EVENT OVERVIEW

Celebrate the Global History, Culture, Cuisine, Economy & Ecology of Oysters at THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR at Port of Call Food & Brew Hall in Historic Downtown Charleston. This will be the finest raw bar / oyster experience ON EARTH ON THIS DAY, without question. And that is not JUST for the fact that the setting is amazing but also because the food & beverage offering is truly a culinary master stroke.

We created International Oyster Day as an alternative to National Oyster Day (Aug 5) which is far and away the worst time of the year to feature oysters due to several factors like the fact that two of the five most important oyster species are not even commercially available at this time. presented by Raw Lab featuring up to 20 varieties of ultra-premium oysters from near, far, north, south, east & west including Canada, Mexico, United States & New Zealand. We will also feature “ALL 5 SPECIES of oysters” for our VIP guests. Learn more about that HERE.

AUTHENTIC LOWCOUNTRY OYSTER ROAST

presented by Charleston Oyster Tables featuring local wild oysters and regional jumbo farmed oysters with all the fixins. 

WEST COAST STYLE OYSTER GRILL

presented by Empire Oyster Catering featuring 3 presentations and Jumbo East & West Coast Oysters.Three favorite recipes will be featured:  

(1) Bourbon Chipotle (2) Brown Butter, Garlic & Parmesan (3) Tomatillo & Cilantro 

THE FIVE STAR RAW BAR

This will feature all 5 species of oysters. This is astonishingly rare and difficult to do. If you’ve never compared all 5 species of oysters to one another in the fall or winter, its a thing of glory. For sure this should be on the top of the bucket list for any oyster aficionado.
