WHAT IS AN OYSTER WEEK?

An OYSTER WEEK is a CURATED COLLECTION OF OYSTER CENTRIC EVENTS paired with A SHOW & SHELL PROGRAM. Events are presented in various locations and venues while ELITE OYSTER DESTINATIONS present their SHOW & SHELL dishes, created and presented by passionate and talented Chefs. INTERESTED, INTERESTING, AFFLUENT and/or INFLUENTIAL CONSUMERS attend and engage to DISCOVER, APPRECIATE & SHARE events & experiences that SUSTAINABLE, RESPONSIBLE & LUXURY BRANDS MAKE POSSIBLE through their support & sponsorship. FUNDS AND AWARENESS ARE RAISED FOR ESTABLISHED NON-PROFIT PARTNERS who work to PROTECT, PRESERVE & RESTORE threatened or lost OYSTER HABITAT.

Oyster Week is the flagship production of The OysterHood, your global headquarters for oyster appreciation, information and experiences.

WHY?

The purpose of an OYSTER WEEK is to present A CELEBRATION OF THE OYSTER’S CONSIDERABLE ROLE IN OUR SHARED HISTORY, CULTURE, CUISINE, ECONOMY & ECOLOGY.

PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE

OYSTER WEEK began as an idea in NYC in 2011. Our idea became a reality, when we produced our first New York Oyster Week in September of 2012. Since then we’ve grown into a community of oyster producers, distributors, restaurants, shuckers and consumers that we call The OysterHood, which was launched in 2014. In 2017 we added Miami Oyster Week to our group of event series. And - of course - we are working on several other markets in the US, Canada and Europe, Asia and Australia. Anyone interested in partnering with us on the production of an Oyster Week should feel welcome to reach out.

Our event calendars have something for every budget, schedule, personality and location. From affordable & rowdy fests with rocking raw bars to refined fêtes, swanky socials, and sexy soirées, there is something for the bivalve curious and the oyster aficionado in every OYSTER WEEK we present.
