The Third Annual Oyster Social, with Chef Charlie Palmer and the Aureole Team will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2014 on The Patio, Aureole’s new al fresco lounge. Guests will enjoy endless oysters, seafood creations, and seasonal fare paired with fine wines, bloody marys, beer and champagne while taking in the sounds of a local bluegrass band. Chef Palmer will be on hand to mingle with guests, shuck some oysters, and spread the word about a great cause.
This is a New York Oyster Week event and proceeds from this one-of-a-kind, non-for-profit shellfish shindig will benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels. Chef Palmer is a board member of Citymeals, which prepares and delivers meals and companionship to 18,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers. Returning this year is the Culinary Institute of America’s Oyster Shucking Showdown, pitting culinary students against each other in a race to see who can shuck the most oysters and engaging the audience in a bidding war to raise more funds for Citymeals-on-Wheels.
