Stone Street Oyster Festival

September 21st, 2013

12:00pm to 6:00pm
Stone Street Tavern
52 Stone St
New York City, NY

In their 10th year, Stone Street Oyster Festival served as our official “Kickoff” for NYOW 2012. This event is always produced on the third Saturday in September and we expect that the festival will continue to be sponsored by Guinness and attract huge crowds to Stone Street until it is relocated to Pier A (nearby) in 2015. At this point it has the potential to grow even larger. 2012 saw 10,000 guest served and 25,000 oysters shucked. NYOW successfully recycled a large number of oyster shells from this event. For 2013 NYOW expects to recycle every oyster shell from the event which will be collected by students from NY Harbor School and used for Oyster Reef Restoration Programs in NY Harbor and beyond.
